Over the May bank holiday weekend, 28th-30th, the Great Food and Drink Festival was at Nottingham Castle and for the second year running it was a fantastic success.

Over 12,000 people took time out of their weekend to enjoy the festivities that were taking place. There was plenty on offer at the festival, with over 115 stalls selling everything from cheese, sausages, cakes, alcohol, coffee, jewellery and more!

The event, which was sponsored by Belvoir Fruit Farms, Nisbets, IKEA, NET and Deliveroo, saw some fantastic chefs come down and cook some wonderful dishes to an audience with upwards of 500 people at a time. Tom Kerridge, Nadiya Hussain and Rustie Lee were amongst the big names at the food and drink festival.

Andy Whyles, event organiser has stated, “We are delighted with the turnout at this year’s event. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the sponsors, stall holders and the public for helping make this event a success.

The continued support from the sponsors is something we always appreciate and it always helps the event run smoothly. We are already looking forward to our Newstead Abbey and Calke Abbey events and cannot wait for the Nottingham Castle event, next year!”

The Great Food and Drink Festivals have two more events left for the year, one at Newstead Abbey in August (27th-29th) and Calke Abbey in September (3rd & 4th). With celebrity chefs such as Simon Rimmer, Michael Caines and Dean Edwards to come, there is still plenty of entertainment to go.
