Name: Gregg Allan Wallace

D.O.B: 17/11/1964

Bio: Gregg Wallace is best known on our TV screen as one half of the MasterChef presenting duo, alongside John Torode.

Gregg began his career selling vegetables at a stand in Covent Garden, before starting up George Allan’s Greengrocers in 1989, with great success too – the company eventually turned over £7.5 million.

Because of the success that Gregg had accumulated within his business, he was invited to co-present BBC Radio 4’s Veg Talk, alongside Charlie Hicks for seven years.

Wallace became the original presenter of long lasting TV programme, Saturday Kitchen, in 2002 until 2003, as well as presenting Veg Out and Follow That Tomato.

Since 2005, Gregg has co-presented the highly successful BBC Two program, MasterChef, alongside John Torode. The series quickly became popular with the viewers of the BBC and got a channel move back to its former home, BBC One.

In 2013, Gregg started co-presenting Eat Well for Less BBC series where himself and Chris Bavin go around to family homes and transform what they are buying from supermarkets, saving them money and getting them to cook real food.

Other TV Appearances: Saturday Kitchen, Follow that Tomato, Veg Out, MasterChef, Celebrity MasterChef, MasterChef: The Professionals, Supermarket Secrets, Harvest 2013, Inside the Factory, Just the Two of Us, Room 101, Who Do You Think You Are?, An Extra Slice, Strictly Come Dancing.

Something you (probably) didn’t know: Gregg isn’t quite a ‘triple threat’. Singing and dancing are not a strong point of Gregg’s. He partnered Carol Decker on the TV singing show Just the Two of Us and was first to be eliminated. He faired slightly better on Strictly Come Dancing, making all the way to the second round!

Where can you see him? Gregg Wallace will be at the upcoming Great Food and Drink Festival at Calke Abbey. This is the first time this event has taken place at this specific venue, so we cannot wait to see what he cooks up.

The Great Food and Drink Festival at Calke Abbey will take place on September 3rd-4th with Gregg appearing on the Saturday of the two-day event.

Video: You can’t talk about Gregg without mentioning this video, can you? Sorry Gregg!
