Rufford Abbey is a brand new event added to our 2018 calendar! The event will take place on May 26th - 28th 2018.

The event is replacing the very successful Nottingham Castle event which is closing for the 23 Million pound refurbishment.

We have some fabulous chefs and new entertainment areas added this years with entertainment for all of the family.

 As we believe treating all people fairly and the full admission rate will be charged. 

Guests who have the following documentation are entitled to one free carer ticket. 

 However, the guest with the disability and any further members of their party will pay full price. Please show the relevant paperwork at the ticket kiosk when you buy or collect your ticket.

 Disability Living Allowance or Attendance Allowance award letter (dated within the last 12 months).

 Personal Independence Payment letter (dated within the last 12 months).

 A current and valid Blue Badge.

 Letter from GP or consultant (dated within the last 12 months) confirming the need for a full time carer.

This does not need to be a letter of diagnosis. (Unfortunately we will not be able to issue carers tickets without seeing the above documentation.)

 

 

 
 

Chris Bavin - Sunday 27th

Since 2013, Chris has co-presented Eat Well For Less? alongside MasterChef's Gregg Wallace.

The show helps families across Britain reduce their shopping budgets without compromising on quality.

He is currently presenting BBC Two's Britain In Bloom. 

Chris will be demoing and Q&A's over the day in the Main theatre

Harrison Jones Sunday 27th

Harrison Jones who was recently part of the BBC hit show ‘The Apprentice’ will be hosting a food demonstration on the main stage theatre on the Sunday the 27th at 12 noon.

Harrison will be talking about his time on the show and his new healthy food venture with some food demonstrations by his extremely talented chef Vinnie Raulinaitis, who has worked with the likes of Richard Corrigan and Gordon Ramsey.  The audience will have the chance to ask Harrisons questions and hopefully try some of the delicious healthy food.

Kate Bottley - Monday 28th May

Kate will be joining the festival on Monday with cooking demo's throughout the day.   

After finding fame on Gogglebox, Kate Bottley has gone on to front Songs Of Praise for the BBC.

She’s also contributed to the Pause For Thought segment on Chris Evans’ Radio Two show.

Kate’s also worked as a columnist for The Guardian and Radio Times.

She participated in the 2017 series of Celebrity MasterChef – a star version of the original MasterChef – and was a guest on The Hairy Bikers Home for Christmas show.

The newly added 'Gin Collection' will be appearing at The Great Food and Drink Festival at Rufford Abbey in May 2018.

Come along and enjoy Gin tasting, workshops and masterclasses and a huge range of some of the finest artisan Gin producers  all located in our Gin Collection Marquee.

There is a fabulous gin bar with a large seated area serving a range of wonderful gin cocktails.

We will be hosting our workshops in the beautiful ground floor of the Abbey ruin, come enjoy some masters at work, sharing the secrets to a great Gin!   

The Horse and Jockey - Pimms and Prosecco Bar will be part of the Gin area selling a fabulous range of drinks too.

The Big BBQ comes to Rufford Abbey

This year we are introducing a fabulous dedicated area for the lovers of the fine art of BBQ'in.

We will be introducing some of the finest purveyors of BBQ food, you can indulge on a feast of different meat treats from Ribs to Brisket.  We have selected only the best popup restaurants and street food, you will not be disappointed!  

There will be workshops from our master butchers, Pit Masters and experts who will sharing their tips and secrets on the main stage theatre. 

There will be a variation of competitions including the 'The Big Chilli Show Down' chilli eating contest which pits contestants against some of the fieriest chilli's on the planet. The Snobby Butcher 'Hot Wings' Challenge, who will be crowned champion for of the Hot wing arena for 2018?

World Famous Chilli Eating Competition    

There is no introduction needed to this contest, only the brave need apply to this competition over the weekend on all 3 days.

You will be faced with 9 Rounds of Chilli's from The Jalapeno to the Carolina Reaper    

If you want to put yourself to the test get signed up on the day

The Snobby Butcher ' Hot Wing Challenge'

The challenge is sponsored by the very famous butcher 'Johnny Pusztai' and his brand the Snobby Butcher.

If you want to test your wits against the might of Johnny's super hot wings then make sure you are there on one of the 3 days or if you are crazy enough all 3!!

Broil King Demo Stage

There will be workshops from Master butchers, Pit Masters and experts who will be sharing their tips and secrets on the ‘Broil King’ Demo theatre stage. You can also get expert tuition on how to make the most from your BBQ. Cooking using the latest Broil King BBQ technology, the classes are designed to take the most inexperienced beginners or the expert griller and offer them some great tips and advice on how to create the perfect gourmet feast. It’s free and great fun.

Kelly and the team run a variation of classes for children from 4-12 years of age.

Simply arrive and book on the day for one of the 3 classes.

Burger Making

We have daily classes run by the world famous Nottingham Butcher Johnny Pusztai.

This one is great for children and adults, again booking on the day is recommended

Pizza Workshops

Kids Pizza Classes: Delivita will engage with your kids involving them in making their own pizzas using Organic Vegan Dough and they can decorate their own pizza from a large selection of toppings, the Delivita Team will then cook their pizza on the Delivita in less 90 seconds.  Delivita charges £6.00 includes pizza and a fruit juice or water.


Pizza Demo classes: Delivita will talk about the success story of Delivita, challengers of manufacturing in the UK, will share the art of making pizzas and some of the recipes which can be replicated at home. The Delivita team will be making some Delivita pizzas and will be offering tasters
